Played Broad Run today - not a good experience. They had aeriated the greens and didn't tell us, fertalized them with pig poop, and many tee boxes had bare patches and/or crab weed. Course appears to be on a slippery downhill slope! BTW - paid $60 for this! Voiced my complaints in the pro shop and they said "thats the way it is".

Urban Golfer, I feel your pain.  I am always pleasantly surprised when a course tells me up front when I am making the tee time that they recently punched the greens or the fairways.  I can only believe that golf courses don't bother to tell you because they need the revenue.

What they don't seem to realize is that when they do that, they are getting short-term gain for long-term loss. They just turned a satisfied, paying customer into a suspicious, resentful one who won't likely be back for long time, if ever.  It's the kind of customer relations that hurt the course in the long run.  It's like suicide by a thousand paper cuts.

I played Broad Run this weekend as well. The condition of the course was terrible. Could not believe the height of the crabgrass on the tees boxes. It looked like they  hadn't been mowed in a long long time. A lot of the fairways were tore up. It hadn't even rained on saturday, but they were was a lot of water in the sand traps. I was really surprised at the condition. I played there a few times earlier in the year and the course was in great shape.

Unfortunately, I agree with these posts as well.  I usually play there at least a few times during the season, but went in July and the conditions were horrid.  Greens were run down with dry spots, tee boxes were cratered, bunkers were muddy and without sand; I couldn't believe it.  The construction along 11 and 12 was also distracting but forgiveable.  I am hoping they turn things around and will likely visit again next season, but if things don't improve by then, this place may get relegated on my list.
